More Mockingjay Casting!

Wahoo!  I'm already excited for Catching Fire, and then I hear this news??

I have the original article link for you, but basically all you need to know is this...

Natalie Dormer= CRESSIDA

Evan Ross= MESSALLA

Stef DawsonANNIE

I don't know much about these actors.  I've only heard of Evan Ross because he was in According to Greta and I'm an obsessive Hilary Duff fan.  However, I'm most eager to see Annie come to life.  Finnick is my favorite character by far of The Hunger Games trilogy, and I love his story with Annie.  Stef Dawson is beautiful and delicate looking, just like I imagined.

How excited are you for Catching Fire and Mockingjay?

Oh, Carly! You Procrastinator!: National English Honor Society Inductions

Tonight was my NEHS inductions.  Now, my adviser is the type of guy who is laid back and kind of a throw it together last minute person.  Just getting the date of the induction set aside was a miracle.  I didn't expect to actually have an organized reading tonight.  Silly me.

So, tonight we sat in a big circle, introduced ourselves, and shared a meaningful passage from a book. My adviser/teacher started off and let everybody know that we had a week to pick out something special.  What was I doing at this time?  Flipping through Catching Fire trying to find something on the fly that had some sort of depth.  Of course, it's an honors society so everybody else had their pages bookmarked, flagged, highlighted, and ready to go.  Figures that I'm the only idiot searching last minute.

And what do I happen upon? The part where Madge tells Katniss to keep the mockingjay pin.  I was hoping for something about the mockingjay's significance, something that I would have probably found in The Hunger Games, but who knew there would be magic one flip of a page away.

I chose a passage about how the mockingjay was never meant to be a weapon, that the Capitol didn't take into account its ability to store genetic codes,... And somehow I pulled it stuff out of my butt about the symbolism of the mockingjay, it representing rebellion and resiliency.  I got to say, it turned out better than I thought.

Yes, this actually is one of my favorite books.  I do think the mockingjay is an important symbol.  It's on the cover of all of the books for goodness sake!  But it was just a funny moment in retrospect since I was the only one scrounging to find something among a group of well prepared, responsible students.  Funny how that seems to often be the situation.

Yo, all Hunger Games fans! Create a video saying a few things like why the Hunger Games is awesome and why someone should read Catching Fire for a chance to have your clip featured in the new Catching Fire book trailer!

I'm even thinking about it.  I LOVED Catching Fire and am so excited for the movie to come out, but I must do a reread because I can't remember anything!

Reminder: Catching Fire Trailer Reveal

Set your DVRs and TiVos because the trailer of Catching Fire is being released tonight during the MTV Movie Awards!! It begins at 9 PM EST.

Got to be honest, even though I'm a huge fan, I'm not watching tonight. It probably won't premiere at 9 and will actually premiere closer towards the end of the show. So, I'll be waiting until tomorrow when I will see it on YouTube .

Last chance to be a "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" extra

Last chance to be a "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" extra
By Jennifer Brett

The "Hunger Games" sequel "Catching Fire" filmed in Atlanta a good part of last year but they aren't quite done.
A casting call seeks extras for some reshoots this weekend.
They're looking for men and women ages 18 to 35 of all ethnicities for the reshoots, to be done on Saturday. I'm not sure where this will be taking place but filming sites last year included the Georgia World Congress Center, the Goat Farm Arts Center and the Atlanta History Center's Swan House. That last one was a big party scene for which extras were instructed to show up in costume, so chances are that's not the one being reshot. When I find out more I'll let you know.
For now, if you're free on Saturday and want to be in the movie with Katniss an'em, email three pictures of yourself along with height, weight, age and phone number toIdiomReshootsATL@gmail.com and put your age, gender and ethnicity in the subject line.
May the odds be ever in your favor!

How cool would it be to be an extra for this?  Well, I think it would be because I love the franchise so much, but who doesn't want to be paid for basically nothing?

Hunger Games: Catching Fire Movie Stills

Some new stills of the Catching Fire film were released.  I'm so pumped!  Finnick is my favorite character and this was my favorite of the series.  I'm a huge Glee fan, so I wanted Grant Gustin to be Finnick but I love this Sam Claflin guy!!!  He's very witty and is nice to his fans, actually taking the time to answer their tweets.  I can totally see him as Finnick.  I'm in love already.
